Winterize Your Car: 3 Steps To Keep Your Car Running Through Winter

CHARLOTTE, NC– With the winter months and colder weather quickly approaching, we stopped by Rick Hendrick Chevy on tips to keep our cars going and not end up on the side of the road. 

It’s tempting to assume that your car is going to do what it’s suppose

d to do, but when the colder weather hits, service manager at Rick Hendrick Chevrolet, Travis Boone says that’s when you have to make sure your car is in good condition.  

Boone says “We typically get more ice than snow of course here, so we want to make sure we’ve got lots of thread on the tires to make sure you get down the road safely and be able to stop.” 

One of the most common things to expect is your car not starting. Boone says, ” It’s battery issues. The cold weather really plays a rough part on the battery, so we always try to make sure we do battery checks on whoever comes in.” 

Boone says the final tip to keep your car in tip-top shape is simple but oftentimes goes overlooked.  He says, “It’s always a good idea to make sure you’ve got antifreeze in there, so when you turn that heater on, it’s going to warm up and defrost like it should!”
