CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When thinking of going out for a drink or a bite to eat many would not consider a hotel restaurant but maybe that will change after seeing the options at the newly opened IRO at the Hyatt Centric Southpark Charlotte.
IRO is a restaurant, bar and lounge that is nestled on the second floor of the hotel. The location provides a vast menu which can touch everyone’s palette.
When the elevator doors open to the second floor visitors walk into the bar and lounge area that provide a very relaxed environment with a high class feel.
IRO provides a one-of-a-kind drink experience with a creative cocktail menu made from mixologist Ed Parowski that include handcrafted cocktail syrups.
Cocktail options include fruity delights such as the Stone Cold Mule and Hazel Made Me Do It; along with other favorites that are rich in flavor including the Element of Surprise and Shift Change.
The bar and lounge area also hosts events including Wine Down Wednesdays where guests can enjoy $5 wines as they unwind to live music from Charlotte-area musicians from 6 to 8 p.m.
The bar also provides a taste of Charlotte with local draft options on the drink menu.
Taste buds travel from Charlotte to the cultural influences of dishes inspired from different parts of the world at the restaurant.
Whether the guest is looking for a breakfast delight or an evening indulge – IRO will not let guests down with their curated menu.
Highlights on the breakfast menu include a southern classic with a twist with a ‘build your own grit bowl’ that include toppings such as cheese, veggies, and bacon or sausage; an Egg Sammie with sausage, eggs, and a flavorful siracha aioli; and french toast topped with vanilla honey and accompanied with a blueberry compote. The restaurant is opened for breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m.
Dine-in guests can enjoy lunch meals with options of shareable plates such as the Pork Belly Mac n’ Cheese with jalapeño BBQ sauce and Tangy Chicken Wings with Gochujang hot sauce, black sesame and scallions with main dish highlights include the tuna and salmon Poke Bowl, Fish Tacos with ginger-sweet chili aioli, cabbage slaw and lemon kosho hot sauce, and the Crispy Chicken Sando with milk bread, honey mustard and Japanese pickles.
The menu offerings are prepared through the inspirations of in-house Chef du Cuisine Dustin Hildebrandt displaying a Japanese and Southern fusion.
Lunch is offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Along with breakfast and lunch meals the restaurant also provides a selections of desserts. Stand-out options including the Pecan Brownie Bar with vanilla ice cream, feuilletine flakes and caramel sauce and the Crème Brulee Cheesecake with vanilla crème anglaise, walnutcrumble and chocolate truffle.
