Breaking: Rowan County Sheriff’s Deputy Dies Following Battle With Covid-19


ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A Rowan County Sheriff’s Deputy has died.  Sunday, the sheriff’s office announced the passing of Master Deputy William (Billy) Marsh early Sunday morning from Covid-19.  Marsh was sworn-in with the sheriff’s office in 2012 as a Reserve Deputy, while also working at the Cleveland Police Department as a full-time officer.

Master Deputy Marsh became a full-time deputy with the RCSO in 2015.  The sheriff’s office says Marsh was a respected, dependable, and hardworking deputy.

He had been hospitalized due to Covid since September 30.  Master Deputy Marsh is survived by his wife and two-year-old child.

Funeral arrangements are still pending.
